Boys win, girls fall to Bowie
On Senior Night for the Jacksboro softball team, the Tigerettes gave it all they had but a pair of early errors hurt the Purple and the squad never recovered in a 6-3 loss to visiting Bowie, knocking the girls from playoff contention.
Bowie (7-6 and 10-16) used a pair of errors and Carrington Davis’ single to go up 2-0. Jacksboro (6-7 and 14-13) would tie the game in the third as Alex Holman opened with a double and came home on an error on a fielder’s choice play, which brought Lexi Little aboard. Little reached third on the play and beat a throw home on a groundout to knot the score at two.
Bowie struck for three runs on four hits in the fifth and a single seventh-inning run. Jacksboro got the run back in the seventh as Leah Plaster singled and scored on Destiny Thompson’s double into the left-center field gap.
Jacksboro BB 12, Bowie 2 (five innings)
The Tigers used four-run outbursts in the final two innings to complete the season sweep of the Jackrabbits.
