Perrin girls rout Lipan, 13-3
PERRIN – A 15-hit attack and a solid pitching performance were enough for the Lady Pirate softball team to take control and post a 13-3, six-inning home-field win over Lipan March 23.
The visitors jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first but the hostesses took control with a four-run first and added a run in the bottom of the third. The squads traded fourth-inning runs before Perrin broke things open with a six-run sixth to end the game on mercy rule.
Kaylie Anderson led a trio of Lady Pirates with a 3-4 night at the plate, getting a homer, a pair of doubles and three RBIs.
Niecia Gary, who struck out 11 and scattered five hits in getting the pitching win, was also 3-4 with a double with freshman Kamryn Staggs going 3-4 with a triple. Nayeli Lopez was 2-4 with a double and three RBIs. Ashton Sims was 2-4 as well.
Perrin remains home Friday to face Santo at 11 a.m.
