Perrin girls rout Bryson

In Tuesday’s district matchup with Bryson, Perrin continued hitting the ball well and held the Cowgirls to just three hits in a 12-2, five-inning win.

Perrin goes to 7-3 and 1-1 in district with Bryson slipping to 4-5 and 0-2. Freshman pitcher Niecia Gary struck out 11 with no walks.

The visitors struck for a pair of first-inning runs using hits by Anderson and Jetton Cansler and a Bryson throwing error to go up 2-0. Perrin blew the game open in the third.

Gary opened with a one-out single with Cansler reaching on an error. Both came home on a two-out single by freshman Nayeli Lopez. Lopez scored as Kamryn Staggs beat out an infield single and moved to second on an error on the play.

Ashton Sims tripled home Staggs for a 6-0 lead before a strikeout ended the threat.
