Perrin tracksters open year in Bryson

BRYSON – Perrin-Whitt’s track teams had good starts to their season Monday with top three finishes in the Cowboy Meet here.

The girls finished second with 146 points, just one point behind the host Cowgirls. Sophomore Kelli Tucker had a tremendous day, winning the 100-meter dash in 13.09, the 400-meter dash (no time provided), the long jump (15’ 1/2”) and the triple jump (30’6”). Teammate Nayeli Lopez won first place in the high jump with a 4’1” leap and the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 56.43.

Tucker and Lopez also combined with Ashton Sims and Kaylie Anderson for a win in the 1,600-meter relay with a 4:47.87 time. Anderson had an individual win in the 800-meter dash with a 2:50.92 time.

Sims was second in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 57.78. Lopez was runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles with a 17.96 clocking. Brianna Bryant had a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 31.02 as did the 800-meter relay foursome of Jasper Cansler, Jamie Carroll, Jasmine Brown and Bryant in 2:09.81.
