Alan Hayden Bush, 72, passed away Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018 in Fort Worth.

Alan was born in Arlington and graduated from Jacksboro High School in 1964. He continued his education graduating from The University of North Texas in 1969 with an accounting degree. Alan then pursued a career with Price Waterhouse in Fort Worth. He later became CEO of ICO, Inc., a oilfield service company in Odessa. During his time at ICO he took them to a publicly traded company.

In 2003, Alan, along with a few friends and family, purchased a then struggling Fuzzy’s Taco Shop on Berry Street near TCU campus. When he retired in 2016, he had grown the once declining company into a thriving 100 plus stores.

Alan was a numbers man and valued a simple life. He loved reading good books, working crossword puzzles and enjoying a good cold beer. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Heaven has gained one feisty angel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nat and Ima Bush.

Survivors include his wife, Paula Bush; son, Chuck Bush; daughter, Lana Hutson and son-in-law, Curtis; grandchildren, Alex Bush, Merritt Bush, Charlie Hutson and Landry Hutson; brother, Charles Bush of Jacksboro; sister, Juli Betty and husband, Jake of College Station; numerous relatives and friends.

The Bush family would like to recognize and thank the ER doctor and staff at Fort Worth Baylor Scott and White Hospital. Their kindness and support is truly appreciated.

A memeroial service was held Tuesday in the Greenwood Chapel. A celebration of Alan’s life will followed at the Railhead Smokehouse, 2900 Montgomery St., Fort Worth.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
