Thu, 02/01/2018 - 10:38 am
New teams include Millsap, Tolar

Jacksboro fans will be saying goodbye to a lot of familiar places over the next two years and hello to a lot of new places, particularly on the football side of things.

The UIL Realignment was released Thursday morning, as it is every Feb. 1 of even-numbered years. Jacksboro will be saying so long to familiar district teams such as Bowie, Wichita Falls City View and Henrietta as the new football district, which will be District 6-3A Division II, includes Jacksboro, Comanche, Dublin, Millsap, Rio Vista and Tolar.

The new basketball districts (7-3A), which will include all other sports, includes Boyd, Breckenridge, Brock, Jacksboro, Millsap, Paradise, Peaster, and Tolar.

For Bryson and Perrin, most notably, as it dropped from Class 2A to 1A, the county schools will be in the same district. The football district will be District 9, Division I and include Newcastle, Saint Jo, and Savoy along with Bryson and Perrin.

In basketball, the new district will be 21-A and include Graford, Newcastle, Throckmorton, and Woodson.

Scheduling will be available after the new district coaches meet in the coming days.
