Cowgirls 4th in Vernon Tourney

VERNON – Bryson’s girls' basketball squad finished fourth in the Silver portion of the Vernon Tournament here last weekend.

In Thursday’s opener, the Cowgirls posted a 29-27 win over Chilicothe. Chilicothe led 11-7 after one but Bryson outscored the foe 10-1 in the second to take a 17-12 lead at the half. Chilicothe took a 23-21 lead into the fourth frame. Maddee Moore had nine points with Kyla Jones adding eight for Bryson.

In Friday’s semifinal, the girls lost a 51-30 decision to Higgins. Higgins outscored Bryson in every quarter leading 15-8 after one and 27-18 at intermission. Moore had 14 points with Nikki Goodman seven.

Wichita Falls Christ Academy was the foe in Saturday’s third-place game with Bryson losing 39-27. Sydney Davidson had 12 points.
