Perrin girls defeat Midway, 54-16

PERRIN – A quick start Monday night enabled Perrin’s girls' basketball team to even its record at 1-1 with a 54-16 win over Midway.

The Lady Falcons were their own worst enemy throughout the game, making turnovers and being unable to handle Perrin’s defense. Kelli Tucker and Kaylie Anderson had hot hands inside and out for a 5-0 lead barely two minutes in.

Solid rebounding from Ashton Sims helped keep Midway off the board for nearly four minutes as the hostesses led by seven. Buckets from Anderson, Tara Hill, and Sims pushed the lead into double figures at 14-3 after one.

After converting 40 percent from the floor in the opening quarter, Tucker and Hill padded the lead to 15 early in the second.
