Bryson beats Gorman

ALEDO – Bryson picked up its first playoff win in the Jason Briles era Nov. 17, getting its second win of the season over Gorman with a 47-21 Class A bi-district victory.

The Cowboys go to 9-2 with the win and will face Jonesboro (10-1) in the area round Friday at 5:30 p.m. in Gorman.

Bryson got out to a quick start, leading 15-6 after one. The squad scored 12 points in each of the next two frames while holding the Panthers to a single touchdown to lead 39-13 going into the final quarter.

The Cowboys offense was efficient and balanced rolling up 438 yards in the game with quarterback Brayden Houser throwing for 231 yards in the air on 14-19 passing with two scores and an interception. Senior Paul Davidson led the squad in receptions with four for 72 yards and a score. Paxton Whitaker had three receptions for 84 yards and the other TD in the air.
