JHS courtyard nears completion

Mon, 11/13/2017 - 6:02 pm

Jacksboro FFA member Hunter Hackley’s vision for a memorial courtyard to honor deceased JHS students and faculty is quickly becoming a reality.

Hackley is also a Texas FFA Ford Leadership Scholar which requires him to create and complete a community service project. Hackley’s service project is to erect a courtyard at Jacksboro High School to honor deceased students, alumni, and teachers of Jacksboro ISD.

Hackley worked with Greg Lewis of GAL Horticultural Services to design the courtyard. A donation from the Jacksboro Vision Group allowed for construction to begin. The Jacksboro High School Memorial Courtyard offers an opportunity to honor deceased friends, loved ones and mentors by having their names engraved on granite stones in the courtyard. The cost for having a name displayed in the courtyard is a tax-deductible donation of $300.

The deadline for submitting names is November 24, 2017. Interested donors can visit www.jacksboroisd.net or contact Jacksboro High School at 940-567-7204.
