Bryson FB wins district title

BRYSON – The winning streak continues ... but not without a struggle.

Bryson had won five in a row and was perfect in district play heading into the Nov. 3 matchup with Forestburg, which was also unbeaten in district. Forestburg was known to have some athletes but to have some problems defensively.

Forestburg came to play in the early going with Bryson taking a two-point lead, 36-34 at halftime.

The break allowed the Cowboys to shore up their defense a bit and pull away in a 92-52 win over the Longhorns.

Bryson is now 8-2 overall and will go into the playoffs as the top seed out of District 12-A. It has this week off to wait and see who it will play in the first round of the postseason.

Cowboys Coach Jason Briles says the break at halftime allowed the squad to regroup.
