Bryson cages Bobcats, 70-16, for Homecoming

Cowboys head to St. Jo Friday evening

BRYSON – To win a district title in recent years in District 12-A, the trek must go through Newcastle, which had won seven straight district titles.

That streak appears to be ending, as the Bobcats have lost their first two district games, including a 70-16 setback to Bryson during Homecoming night Oct. 20. Bryson is unbeaten in district at 2-0 (6-2 overall).

The Cowboys jumped out to a 32-8 lead after one and extended it in the second quarter with the game being called at halftime because of the 45-point mercy rule.

Bryson was able to put up 508 yards of offense against the visitors, 330 of that coming on the ground. Ethan Robinson had 12 totes for 147 yards on the ground with Paul Davidson rushing for 116 yards on four totes with three TDs. Quarterback Braden Houser rushed for 63 yards on three carries and a score.
