Bryson VB sweeps past Perrin
PERRIN – After not winning a district match for a number of years, volleyball here appears on the upswing.
The Lady Pirates won a game vs. Alvord last week and gave visiting Bryson a good match Saturday before succumbing 21-25, 17-25, 11-25. Bryson goes to 4-1 in district play with Perrin still winless at 0-5.
Perrin got out to an 8-3 lead in game one thanks to a pair from Alexa Sindelar and three from Shalin Royal. Senior Jetton Cansler’s single point had the Lady Pirates up 10-5.
Bryson showed why it’s been a playoff team and district champ in recent years as Italy Pedraza’s three-point skein and a five-point run from junior Maddee Moore put the visitors on top for the first time at 15-11, forcing Lady Pirate Mentor Savannah House into a timeout.
The Cowgirls led by as many as six before Perrin broke serve and sophomore Kelli Tucker served up four points to force a Bryson timeout leading 21-20. The Lady Pirates would get no closer before Bryson broke serve and served out the game.
