Audrey Arlene Hollimon

Audrey Arlene Hollimon, 82, of Fort Worth passed away July 16, 2017 after a courageous and lengthy battle with mucosal melanoma.

Arlene was born October 30, 1934 in Electra to Arthur and Hazel Allen. She was married to Thomas Dale Hollimon on June 6, 1953, at the Little Chapel in The Woods in Denton. He preceded her in death on September 9, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers Larry Allen and Richard Allen, Sister-in-laws Billie Allen, Mary Nell Allen, and Charlotte Maddox.

Arlene was retired and worked many years as the administrative manager for the Exploration Department at Marshall R Young Oil Company. She also worked several years as a secretary for Texland Petroleum Company, Inc. Arlene was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was very grateful to have lived to see her great-grandkids – the “Greats” as she would refer to them. The road was not as easy as she endured many surgeries and treatments for 10 years treating her cancer. She had a heart of gold and her family concurs she was the strongest and toughest person they ever knew. She will truly be missed by all.                                 

Survivors include daughter, Jan Hanson and husband Harlan of Jacksboro, Texas; son, Scott Hollimon and wife Robyn of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Leanna Moore and husband Jeremy of Burleson Texas, Quin Hanson and wife Lindsey of Hamilton, Texas; great-grandchildren, Owen and Mason Moore, and Piper and Sawyer Hanson; brother in law Dr. Rex Maddox of Grandview, Texas; and many beloved nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
