Area tracksters qualify for State

All three Jack County schools will have representatives at the State Track Meet later this month by virtue of top two finishes in events at the regional meets last weekend.

Jacksboro landed three going to state, all seniors. Kade Weldon and Riley Rollans finished 1-2 in the discus event. Weldon threw a 167’2” and Rollans a 164’7” to qualify.

Senior Kaylea Maples qualified for state in the triple jump finishing second in the event with a 37’1”. Freshman Baylee Thompson was fifth in the shotput with a 37’1 1/2”.

Perrin’s Zach Tucker won the 1,600-meters with a 4:53.49 time to qualify him for state.

Bryson junior Tanner Buchanan won the pole vault with a 10’6” effort. Other individuals finishing included Makayla Foyt, who was fifth in the 300 hurdles with a 51.99 time and 8th in the 100 hurdles with an 18.61. Sydney Davidson was sixth in the 100 meter run with a 13.52 clocking. 

The 1,600-meter boys relay team was sixth with a 3:53.47 with the girls 400-meter relay also sixth in 55.38.
