Obituary Form

The Jacksboro Herald-Gazette accepts obituary notices from funeral homes and individuals. If you are working with a funeral home for your loved one’s services, please contact them to see if they can submit the obituary to us.

We charge for obituaries, based on the number of words in the announcement, starting at $40 for 150 words or less. For longer obituaries, the price increases by about $15 for each additional 50 words or less. Once we have the obituary typed up into our standard format, we will contact you for payment arrangements. We do offer a short death notice at no charge; if you would prefer that option, please call the paper.

The basic obituary includes one photo of the deceased. Please send the photo in a jpg format at a minimum of 225 dpi resolution. Black and white or color photos can be used, providing the picture is of good quality and not too small. Additional photos will cost $25 each to include.

Obituaries that are received by 5 PM  Tuesday will go in the next paper.  Obituaries received after the deadline will be printed in the next edition of the paper.

Please include a name, phone number and email where we can reach you for more information and/or payment.
