Breast cancer awareness month serves as reminder

Everyone knows someone who has been impacted by breast cancer. During the month of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Faith Community Hospital Family Nurse Practitioner Jessica Coker, FNP reminds every woman to schedule a mammogram who is due to have one.

Trunk or Treat set for Oct. 31 on square

In a change from past years, Jacksboro will be moving its annual Halloween celebration from the Twin Lakes Activity Center to the downtown square. Trunk or Treat is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m.

Bryson man arrested following deputy shooting

A Bryson man was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault of a public servant following a shooting Saturday, Oct. 12.

Brad Paul Clayton, 46, of Bryson, was booked in the Jack County Jail shortly after midnight Sunday, Oct. 13. As of Monday, Clayton’s bond had been denied.

According to a probable cause affidavit, at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jack County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Deputy Chris Reger attempted to conduct a traffic stop, just east of Bryson on U.S. Highway 380.

Clayton reportedly failed to yield and instead pulled up to his residence, off Hwy. 380 East.
