City officials presented a design document for the new water treatment plant and pump station improvements to council members at the Monday, March 10 meeting. City Manager Mike Smith said the design documents are 60% complete.

Talk on work in the district courtroom continued during the county commissioners meeting on Monday, March 10. County Judge Keith Umphress and 271st District Court Judge Brock Smith spoke Friday, March 7 with Smith letting Umphress know he was concerned no action had been taken on getting the ceiling painted or what the powdery substance falling from the ceiling is.

There are just more than two weeks left to register to vote for the Saturday, May 3 election. The deadline is Thursday, April 3.

Work on the new Four Stars Ford location continues to progress. General Manager Floyd Goatcher told Jacksboro Lions Club members the new facility will be open Sunday, June 1.

It was a dream of the late Kenny Salazar to touch the lives of those around him, and he achieved that through services, devotion and with a smile and laughter. Aside from serving as the Jack County Precinct 2 Commissioner, Salazar was a community and family man who cared for his children and grandchildren, as well as other members of the community.
