City gets weather station

Jacksboro officials recently had a new weather station installed on top of the Twin Lakes Activity Center that will keep residents safe and provide valuable information to residents. Parks and Recreation Director Will Mangum said the station, which was ready for use Monday, March 31, will give residents the temperature, daily rainfall, heat index, wind speed and direction.

PWCISD bond issue explained

About 30 Perrin-area residents came to hear all about the $25,450,500 bond issue Perrin-Whitt CISD is asking voters to approve. A bond facility planning committee comprised of community members, school board members, parents and district employees, after a series of three meetings in late 2024, recommended a bond issue to the board.

Loan approved for EDC

Jacksboro council members approved a Jacksboro Economic Development Corporation plan to obtain a draw loan for cash flow during the Monday, March 24 meeting. EDC Executive Director Brenda Tarpley said the loan is during the grant reimbursement period while enhancements for the business park are going on to bring in water and a temporary sewer line.
