JCSO to patrol city due to JPD officer shortage

Jack County Sheriff’s Office deputies will be working with the Jacksboro Police Department on providing law enforcement coverage on a 24/7 basis. In a Thursday, April 17 meeting attended by Jacksboro Police Chief Bryan Corb and City Manager Mike Smith, along with Jack County Sheriff T-Bob Hauger, Chief Deputy Doug Angell, Jacksboro Mayor Craig Fenter and Jacksboro Fire Chief Jeremy Jennings, discussions were had on law enforcement concerns within the city of Jacksboro.

JHS band wins Sweepstakes Award

For the first time since 2019, Jacksboro High School’s band won a Sweepstakes Award during a UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Contest in Stephenville last week. Band Director Scott Patricia said winning the award is a three-step process and consists of receiving 1s on a scale of 1-5 at the Marching Contest in the fall and on both parts of the concert and sight reading.

PWCISD bond finances explained

Perrin-Whitt CISD voters had a chance to hear more about the bond funding and how finances work for the $25,450,500 proposed issue during a Saturday, April 12 town hall meeting. If voters approve the issue, the monies will be used for a multi-purpose building to include a cafeteria and auditorium space among other things, a Career building which will be used for agriculture and other career opportunities, safety and security upgrades and renovations to the concession stand restrooms at the athletic complex.
