Thu, 07/21/2016 - 6:07 pm

A man indicted on a Jack County charge last month was arrested July 9 in Odessa.

Jim Wiley McDonald, 29, was stopped and arrested by an Odessa Police Department officer for a Jack County warrant for sexual assault of a child.

McDonald was in a consensual relationship with a Jack County teen while the girl was living with a relative in West Texas. She came back to Jack County and McDonald followed her.

The girl ran away with McDonald who was stopped by police in Mineral Wells and arrested for harboring a runaway.

An investigation by the Texas Ranger assigned to Palo Pinto County determined the assault occurred December 23, 2015.

McDonald was indicted on the charge June 24.

As of Tuesday afternoon, he is being held at the Ector County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.

Jack County Sheriff Melvin Mayo said McDonald would be picked up and transported to Jack County Jail this week.
