One dead in plane crash in northeast Parker County

At approximately 4:30 p.m. Friday, Jack County Dispatch received a report of a possible plane crash in the southeast portion of Jack County from a resident in the Poolville area. 

Jack County emergency crews including EMS and fire staged at an area near the Parker/Jack County line as deputies and County Commissioner James Brock searched the area for the downed aircraft reported to be small and possibly single engine.

The crash site was found at approximately 5 p.m. in Parker County southwest of Poolville near Pine Road.

A Texas Department of Public Safety press release said preliminary information indicates that a single engine, fixed-wing, aircraft went down in a heavily wooded area. The only occupant onboard was deceased. The identity has not been released.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Traffic Safety Board were notified and headed to the scene.
