Jacksboro will host its National Night Out from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Jacksboro Middle School, 812 W. Belknap.

The National Night Out Organization is celebrating 35 years of its event promoting police-community partnerships and citizen fellowship in an effort to make Jacksboro neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

In addition to offering a family event where community members have a chance to meet and visit with local law enforcement and first responders, there will be games and activities for children and participants will get to see an air ambulance helicopter land. Those on two wheels can join in a bicycle rodeo.

Police Chief Scott Haynes said the bicycle rodeo is a new addition to the event and the Jacksboro Police Department will also be registering bicycles to help ensure the owner can be easily identified if a bike is recovered.

Perrin will also host a National Night Out event beginning at 6 p.m. in the parking lot in front of the Perrin School, 216 N. Benson St.
