Mitigration grant meeting tonight
Persons wanting to give Jack County and the City of Jacksboro a chance at some road funds can attend a mitigation grant meeting this evening to find out more about it.
A number of meetings on the grant, which can help the county get items such as culverts for the county roads, will be held. The first is tonight at 6 p.m. in the District Courtroom of the Jack County Courthouse. Both the county and City of Jacksboro are playing active roles in trying to get some hazard mitigation money in working with FEMA after last year's hurricanes. The county is working on a plan at the present time.
Residents who sign a sheet stating they were in attendance can potentially help the county get money for the projects. There is no guarantee either entity will receive money but the more interest shown by residents the better.
