Jacksboro Homecoming week kicked off with the bonfire Friday night.

Former Dallas Cowboy Eugene Lockhart fired up the crowd with an inspirational message encouraging all to look to God for strength.

“If you fall down, hope you fall on your back because if you can look up, you can get up,” he said.

A group of seniors then threw their torches to light the fire.

Friday’s parade was the biggest ever with 62 parade entries.

The theme was “Teamwork Makes the Dreamwork” and the junior class took first place in the class floats. The freshman class float was second and the senior class was third.

The Tiger Pride Award went to T&S Tire and Judge’s Choice went to the float of the Jacksboro Animal Shelter and peewee cheerleaders.
