Food Pantry moving back indoors

Wed, 07/15/2020 - 5:00 am

The Jacksboro Community Food Pantry will move back indoors on Monday July 20th with a new distribution process, to help contain the spread of Covid-19 while providing food to those in need.

The doors will open at 2:30 as usual, however, approximately 30 people at a time will be allowed to enter to accommodate a six-foot social distancing guideline as recommended by the CDC. Once inside the Fellowship Hall at The Light Church, the newly implemented protocols will be clearly marked to ease into our new normal. Additionally,

MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED to enter for the protection of volunteers and recipients.

Any facial cover will be allowed, scarves, bandanas, etc., let’s try to respectfully protect each other to the best of our ability.

We ask that only one family member come inside to pick up food and toiletries. Also, if you have a recyclable bag that was handed out during the last three months, please return for another distribution. Reminder, JCFP is open until 6 p.m. and fully stocked so a long line is not necessary at 2:30 and may leave some standing in the hot Texas sun.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers who endured three months of organized chaos and the elements to continue to the selfless giving of your time and heart in the mission to provide food in the name of Christ.

Speaking of famous volunteers, JCFP’s celebrated leader Michele Martin will be serving tables on July 23rd from 6-9 p.m. at JR’s Chophouse and all tips will be donated to non-profits in Jacksboro. Please come and support the effort at the 3rd Annual Famous for Serving Night Out and thank them for their community service!
