County proclaims Oct. 4-10 4-H Week

4-H Members came to Jack County commissioners Sept. 28 to accept proclamation declaring the week Of Oct. 4-10 as 4-H week in the county.

Members discussed what aspect of the organization they are in and had the opportunity to sample Lainey Brown’s 4-H Sugar cookies, which Judge Keith Umpjhress says were “the best”

Things are progressing well on changing the county’s financial software from Net Data to Open Gov. Things have not gone well so far but commissioners have said they will hold the company accountable. A allow up meeting with the company and county offices have said they are moving again.

The county is also working with Careflight Ambulance Services to develop what benefit the city of jacksboro and Bryson and the county could get a plan.

For $15 a month, employees could get an ambulance plan. After a recent heart attack, Precinct 2 Commissioner James Brock was charged thousands of dollars for a trip when that could have done inexpensively with an ambulance plan.

NetLink which supplies high speed internet to both the Jacksboro High School and the City, will now be doing it for businesses surrounding the courthouse to allow NetLink use of antenna on top of the courthouse which will allow for more and better service throughout the city
