Police, city working together to clean up Jacksboro

Jacksboro Police Department is working with city of Jacksboro code enforcement officials in an attempt to get areas around town cleaned up.

Lt. Matt Windham, a former school resource officer with Jacksboro ISD, told Lions Club members some of the ideas and visions he had when he returned a few weeks ago and they matched up with the ideas and visions the city had.

Code enforcement met up with city, police, and fire personnel recently to discuss how best to clean things up around the city. Windham said five problems were identified including maintaining grass, shrubbery, house numbers on the house, deteriorating street signs and parked vehicles as well as trash on lawns.

Windham said education will be the first prong of attacking the problem. Many folks don’t know there are solutions their problems.
