Classic Car Show and ChiliFest Winners

Thirteen competitors took part in the annual Jacksboro Chamber of Commerce ChiliFest and Classic Car Show Saturday, Nov. 13 on the Jacksboro square. The ChiliFest Grand Champion team was South Side Senate and included Stephen James, Yancey Laake and Ethan Daniels; the Second Place team was Backroad Chili and included Karen Umpress and Michael Beck; the Third Place team included Brody Rocky and Kyle Myers; and the Faith Community Health Systems team won the People’s Choice award. Chili competitor Cathy Amburn frying some meat for her chili.

In the Classic Car Show, the winner of the Oldest Model category was Janelle Andrews' 1931 black and purple 1931 Rat Rod, with runner-up Kendall Amburn's 1932 blue and silver Ford; winner of the Most Unique/Original category was Jerry Slinger's 1951 Studebaker, with runner-up Harold Pankey's Pontiac Bonneville; winner of the Best Paint category was James Logan's 1956 bronze and white Belair, with runner-up Tim Moreland's 1966 blue Chevrolet C-10 pick-up truck; winner of the Best Interior category was La Donna Schlitter's 2007 Chevrolet Corvette, with runner-up David Shifflett's 1956 red Chevrolet; winner of the Best Engine category was Alice Friddle's 1967 Ford Mustang, with runner-up Kendall Amburn's 1932 blue and silver 1932 Ford Coupe; and winner of the Best Overall in Show was Harold Pankey's 1947 Studebaker, with runner-up David Shifflett's 1956 red Chevrolet.
