Arrest made for child sexual assault

A former Bryson resident was arrested Nov. 2 in Wichita Falls on a warrant for sexual assault of child issued in Jack County.

Michael David Estep, 37, is now in the Jack County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

According to the arrest affidavit, a 15-year-old female victim was interviewed on Oct. 13 and stated she was 14 years old the first time Estep tried to have sex with her. 

During a forensic interview, the victim described the first time Estep assaulted her. She said it happened again about a month later and that although she was unsure of the number of times it happened several other times and she was scared to tell anyone.

The offense is a first-degree felony.
