4-H week coming up
Members of the Jack County 4-H group came to Commissioners Court Monday to discuss a proclamation honoring National 4-H Week Oct. 2-8.
Dalton Birdwell spoke of the Clover Campaign which Tractor Supply Company will be sponsoring for 4-H next month where people can make donations to benefit 4-H. All proceeds made at the Jacksboro TSC stay in the county, according to County Extension Agent Alinda Cox.
Elizabeth Hines spoke of her 4-H experience showing pigs and, most recently, rabbits. She was recently named Reserve Grand Champion for her rabbit showing at a show in Abilene.
In other activity, County Clerk Vanessa James asked commissioners for clarification on what to do with approximately $17,000 in the budget, which would average about 22 hours a week year round, that she believed was to go toward the hiring of a part-time person to help with elections.
