No injuries in H-Brand fire

A fire at H-Brand Feed Store Tuesday, April 28 gutted the business’ warehouse, but owners David and Melissa Harmonson said they will rebuild.

The cause of the fire, which was toned out about 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, is still to be determined. Departments from Jacksboro, Bryson, Newport, Cundiff, Perrin, Jack County Rural and others fought the blaze into the evening with smoke still seen through Jacksboro nearly 24 hours after.

Aaron Harmonson said he was out back behind the retail store about five minutes prior to the fire starting and told his mother, Melissa, he heard an explosion.

“We got everything out as fast as we could,” Melissa said. “Fortunately no one was hurt. God blessed us. We’re all safe. We’re insured, so we’ll rebuild.”

David Harmonson said he spent most of the following day ordering to refill what was lost and working on keeping things as normal as possible. While he and son Aaron were doing that, Melissa and daughter Bailey were working in the retail store.

Customers came through the store throughout the day,Wednesday, to check on the family and off their support, for which the family is grateful.
