Commissioners to work with Jacksboro, Bryson
Discussion on working with the City of Jacksboro on a way to dispose of used and old tires was held before commissioners court Monday.
City Manager Mike Smith said city residents are allowed four or five times a year to make use of trailers at the convenience center west of town to dump items. Smith was receiving inquiries on what to do with old tires.
He asked the county if they would be willing to help with the cost of placing a standard 18-wheeler somewhere either in the city or county so people could dump tires, which are an eyesore in the eyes of many around the county. The cost would be about $1,400 per trailer.
Pct. 2 Commissioner James Brock said the county barns are full of old tires.
