The Whitt Masonic Lodge #624 AF&AM is proud to announce that the “Golden Trowel” and also the “Community Builder” awards were presented to Brother

Hugh Wraight, and to David Phillips, respectively, during a presentation June 18.

The “Golden Trowel” award is presented to the Brother Mason who has been acknowledged for his continued work in the community as well as his lodge. It is the highest award given a Mason. Wraight is a member of the Whitt Lodge presently serving as junior deacon and is the junior warden-elect. He has served as the head of the auto tech program at Mineral Well High School since 2011.

The “Community Builder” award is in recognition for non-Masons who have distinguished themselves through service to their community. Phillips is a current officer of the Whitt Cemetery Board and has been an active member of the Adell-Whitt Volunteer Fire Department for the past 17 years.

The awards ceremony was held at the Whitt Lodge building located at 101 Main Street, in beautiful downtown Whitt, Texas and was witnessed by a crowd of 30, who were fed hamburgers, hot dogs and grilled chicken legs, as well as potato salads, chips and all the fixings. A good time was had by all.
