Twenty Jacksboro athletes qualified for this week’s area meet as a result of their performance at the district track meet. D.J. Thomas and Lacy Lane led the way as they both qualified in five events which is the maximum number of events a student can compete in.
The varsity boys won the overall team championship and the Tigerettes placed fourth.
Brandon Nelson placed sixth in the 3200 meter run. The 4x100 relay team of Alexia Rushin, Lacy Lane, Selena O’Shields and Vanessa Garcia placed fourth. The boys 4x100 relay team placed second and was composed of Caleb Martin, Zack Montgomery, Daniel Mabbit and David Stretcher.
Jessica Lamberson posted at time of 2:32 to take third place in the 800 meter run.
Lacy Lane took third place in the 100 meter hurdles with time of 16.84. Vanessa Garcia placed sixth in the same race. Caleb Martin took fourth place in the boys 110 meter hurdles with a time of 17.22. Yuridia Delgado took fifth place in the 100 meter dash. D.J. Thomas ran a 10.85 to win the district championship in the 100 meter dash. Zach Montgomery placed sixth.
The girls 800 meter relay team of Olivia Roberts, Kelsey Laake, Kalea Maples and Yuridia Delgado took home fourth place while Colton Massengale, Zach Montgomery, Daniel Mabbit and Caleb Martin comprised the boys 800 meter relay team that won the silver medal.
