D.J. Thomas and David Stretcher each earned five medals as the Jacksboro Tiger track team raced to the team championship at the Bowie Jackrabbit Relays last Thursday. The meet was the final tuneup for the Tigers before they host the District Meet this week.

D.J.Thomas won the long jump. David Stretcher finished third and Daniel Mabbit placed fourth. Mabbit placed second in the High Jump. Thomas placed third and Caleb Martin placed fourth in the high jump. Stretcher placed second in the triple jump. Martin placed fourth and Jacob Bridges took sixth place.

E.J. Lozada took first place in the shot put. The Tigers took first and second place in the pole vault as Colton Massengale placed first and Tinnin Smith placed second.
Brandon Nelson placed fifth in the 3200 meter run. The 400 meter relay team of Caleb Martin, Zach Montgomery, Daniel Mabbitt and Colton Massengale won the silver medal. The same team also took the silver and the 1600 meter relay team of Daniel Mabbitt, David Stretcher, Jacob Bridges and DJ Thomas ended the evening by winning the gold medal.

Jacob Bridges won the 800 meter run and Brandon Nelson placed fifth. Caleb Martin placed fourth in the 110 hurdles. D.J. Thomas won the 100 meter dash and Zach Montgomery placed sixth. Bridges also placed fourth in the 400 meter run. D.J.Thomas won the 200 meter run and David Stretcher placed third.

The Tigerette track team placed fourth in the team standings.


Kaylea Maples took home fifth place in the long jump. Jessica Lamberson earned the bronze medal in the High Jump. Kaylea Maples placed fifth in the triple jump. Two Tigerettes placed in the shot put as Ashley Cox finished fourth and Madison Swor placed fifth.

The varsity Tigerettes placed fourth in the 400 meter relay with team members Olivia Roberts, Kelsey Laake, Kalea Maples and Madison swor. The varsity Tigerettes also placed fourth in the 800 meter relay with Olivia Roberts, Kalea Maples, Kelsey Laake and Yuridia Delgado and the JV Tigerettes once again placed sixth. The Tigerettes earned the bronze medal in the 1600 meter relay with Madison Swor, Lacy Lane, Kelsey Laake and Jessica Lamberson.

Jessica Lamberson placed second in the 800 meter run. Vanessa Garcia finished sixth in the 110 hurdles. Yuridia Delgado earned fourth in the 100 meter dash. Jessica Lamberson placed second in the 400 meter relay and Alexia Rushin placed sixth, Selena O’shields placed fifth in the 300 hurdles. Kaylea Maples earned the silver medal in the 200 meter dash.

The Tigers and Tigerettes will compete in the District Track Meet at Tiger stadium. The field events and running preliminaries will be held on Wednesday and the final running events will be held on Thursday.
