The Jacksboro Tigerette volleyball team traveled to Graham Tuesday night and came away with a thrilling five set victory over the Lady Blues. After falling behind Graham 4-7 in the first set, Jaden Richardson reeled off three straight service points to tie the score. The Lady Blues wrestled momentum back from the Tigerettes to pull out to a lead of 13 to 8. Despite some outstanding plays including kills by Brooklyn Green and Savannah Dunlap, the Tigerettes were never able to catch up to the Lady Blues and dropped the first game 25-20. The Tigerettes used a block and another winner from Richardson along with a service ace from Darby Perry to race out to a 5-1 lead in game two. Kelsey Laake teamed up with Harley Goodner for a block that continued the Tigerettes momentum and after Richardson followed a kill with a nice winner, the Lady Blues were forced to use a timeout in an effort to stem the Tigerette momentum that had given Jacksboro a 16-9 lead. More nice plays from the Tigerettes like a re-direct from Kenzie Crombie allowed Jacksboro to keep the pressure on the Lady Blues, winning game two 25-17. The Tigerettes continued their momentum into the third game as a service ace by Richardson gave Jacksboro an 8-5 lead. However, the Lady Blues went on a run of their own and soon turned their deficit into an 11-8 lead. After the Tigerettes forced a side out, Graham went on another run that was ended with a kill by Laake. The Tigerettes found themselves trailing 9-15 when a long rally ended with a point for Graham. The Tigerettes pulled to within five points in the third game but were never able to make up the rest of the deficit and dropped game three 19-25. Game four started out as a close game until Laake took over the serve with the Tigerettes trailing 7-8. She served seven consecutive points with a run that featured two service aces and a kill by Richardson. The Tigerettes never looked back from that point and a game four win of 25-18 set up a decisive game five for the Tigerettes and Lady Blues. Graham won the toss and served first in the final game. A kill by Richardson and a block by Laake helped the Tigerettes race out to a lead of 8-4. Winners from Richardson and Green along with a kill from Laake allowed the Tigerettes to maintain their lead and Richardson put the finishing touches on the Tigerette win with a kill that gave Jacksboro a 15-7 win in game five. Richardson finished the match with 21 kills, 14 digs, 4 aces and 3 blocks. Laake had 15 digs, 7 kills, 4 aces, and three blocks. Perry had 15 digs. Crombie had 32 set assists and 8 digs.
