The Jacksboro Independent School District Board of trustees met for their regular monthly meeting Monday. The trustees were able to work through a short agenda in quick fashion.
The Board approved the consent agenda which included approval of the minutes from the meetings held in August. The Trustees also approved the tax office report along with the schedule of investments and financial report including the register of checks.
Jacksboro High School Principal Brad Burnett reported that the high school has a current enrollment of 272 students. Upcoming events at the high school include open house Monday, Sept. 16, from 5:30-7 p.m.
Senior pictures will be taken Sept. 16 and 17 and the Student Council will host a blood drive Sept. 18.
Jacksboro Middle School Principal Sarah Mathis reported an enrollment of 223 students. She was pleased to report that 132 students had parents visit the middle school at the recent Open House. The middle school will sponsor a program to highlight the dangers of "sexting' Sept. 19. The "Kick it for Kasey volleyball tournament will be held Sept. 28.
Jacksboro Elementary Principal Angie Myrick reported an enrollment of 495 students. Myrick will host her "Coffee with the Principal" at 7 a.m., Sept. 17. The elementary will host the Shriners clown Sept. 24.
The next meeting will be at 7 p.m., Oct. 14.
