Eight Tigers and two Tigerettes won the right to compete at historic Ratliff Stadium in Odessa at the Region 1-2A meet Friday and Saturday.
Laken Plaster and Kelsey Laake will represent the Jacksboro Tigerettes while Tiger athletes Reid Spiller, Jared Lamberson, David Stretcher, Kyle Clark, Kirk Weldon, D.J. Thomas, Daniel Mabbit and Jacob Bridges will travel to Odessa to test their skills.
Weldon led the way for the Tigers, who finished third at the Area Meet, with two Gold Medals. Weldon won the Discus and the Shot Put competition.
Thomas also qualified for regional competition with a fourth place finish in the shot put.
Lamberson qualified for Regionals with a fourth place finish in the triple jump and Stretcher will compete in the Regional long jump as he placed fourth at the Area meet.
The 4x100 relay team of Thomas, Spiller, Mabbit and Stretcher placed second and the 4x400 relay team of Mabbit, Stretcher, Clark and Thomas earned their way to Odessa with a fourth place finish in their relay.
Bridges will compete in two events at Odessa as he placed fourth in the 800 meter run and the 1600 meter run. Clark will compete in the 400 meter run as he placed fourth.
Laken Plaster earned a Gold medal at the Area meet in the shot put, earning her a place at the regional Meet.
Laake will represent the Tigerettes at Odessa after earning a third place finish in the 800 meter run.
Lanna Plaster placed fifth in the shot put, Yuridia Delgado placed fifth in the 100 meter dash, and Stretcher placed fifth in the triple jump, just missing places at the Regional Meet.
Thomas and Stretcher will compete in three events at Regionals; Weldon, Clark, Mabbit and Bridges will compete in two events. The field events will be held Friday and Saturday, while the running preliminaries will be held Friday afternoon and the finals will take place Saturday afternoon.
