Guinn Ware Campsey

Guinn Ware Campsey, of Jacksboro, Texas passed away at his home on Thursday June 16, 2016. He was 90 years old.

Guinn was born on March 23, 1926 to Lon and Mable Layuna (Ware) Campsey. Guinn

Guinn was a rancher and served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a Boy Scout Troop Master and even had a troop in Germany. He received the Silver Beaver Award for Distinguished Service to Boyhood from the Longhorn Council. He married Laura Beth Gregg on February 11, 1949 and was a rural mail carrier for 30 years retiring in 1997. Guinn was very active in local and regional areas serving on the FHA Loan Association Board, Texas Water Conservation District Board, Jacksboro ISD School Board and the Federal Land Bank.

He is preceded in death by daughter Connie Sue Campsey; his parents Lon and Mable Campsey; sisters Maureen Clerihew, Beatrice Morton, and Christine Nelson, and grandson Beau Hamby.

Guinn is survived today by his wife Laura Beth Campsey; sons Rick Campsey and wife Mitzi and Brad Campsey all of Jacksboro; granddaughter Carly Hamby of Corpus Christi; grandsons Chris Amburn and wife Ashley of Weatherford, Chad Amburn and wife Micki of Allen; great-grandchildren Cameron Amburn, Kristian Bailey, Makayla Amburn, Nykole Chasteen and John Allen Amburn; special friends Kris Ingram and family; and many other extended family members and friends. 

Services were Saturday, June 18 at Coker Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksboro with burial following in Oakwood Cemetery.
