James Roy Marshall passed away Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 in Jacksboro at the age of 91.
James was born June 12, 1922 in Bakersfield, Calif. to James and Lorin Kilborn Marshall. He and Charlotte Ferguson were married in Abilene May 7, 1994.
James retired from the United States Army after 30 years of service. After retirement, he worked as a gunsmith. He was a champion rifle and pistol marksman, bowling and horseshoe champion, a member of the VFW, American Legion and Elks Fraternity. James exceeded in all that he did. He loved fishing, hunting and travel, as well as woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Verna Holson-Scratch.
James is survived by his wife, Charlotte; daughter Jan Rae White; stepdaughter, Selma Wright and husband Ray; granddaughter, Paula Rae White; grandson, Clinton James White; step-grandson, Shae Clemons; great grandchildren, Lisa Ann, Tracie, Andrea, Amanda, Crystal, Sydnee, Theresa and Grace.
His funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20 at Coker Funeral Home with full military honors with burial following at Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Visit www.cokerfuneral.com for online tributes.
