Weatherford College has been selected as one of 11 General Educational Development Testing Centers in Texas to participate in a nationwide comparability study of online GED testing versus the traditional pencil/paper test, and local community members can earn money by participating in the study.
The General Educational Development Testing Service in Washington, D.C. is conducting the survey and will pay participants to take the online version of the General Educational Development tests. Participants may take one or all five sections of the online GED test and will receive $15 per test. If the score received is 410 or higher, the test-taker will receive an additional $20. Thus, if a person takes all five sections and scores 410 or higher on each section, he or she could receive $175.
Approximately three weeks after completing the official test, a check will be mailed to the test-taker. After taking the online practice opportunity, the examinee will then take the official GED test on paper. (Regular testing fees apply for the official paper-version GED test.) Scores will be compared to ensure the computer-based and paper/pencil tests measure a test-taker’s knowledge equally. This testing opportunity is available only to those who have not previously tested for the GED. “This is an excellent opportunity to get practice taking the GED tests and earn money doing so,” said Lela Morris, WC Testing Center director. “We are not sure how long this study will continue, so we need anyone interested to contact us as soon as possible.” Anyone interested in participating in the paid online GED study should contact the WC Testing Center at (817) 598-6488. |
