No church? No way!
I believe there are least 12 churches listed in the phone directory within the city limits. This is not counting the ones in outlying community. And yet, it has been weeks since there has been a Sunday church service held at the nursing home in Jacksboro.
I work there, and ever Sunday, one or more of the residents asks, “Are we going to have church today?” and we have to answer, “I don’t know.” I realize that some Sundays there may not be more than two or three who are able to attend, but my Bible doesn’t say there has to be an overflowing crowd bewfore there can be a church service held. Even if you don’t do anything but play the piano and sing with them, it means so much to the residents. I think it is a shame that none of our churches can take 30 minutes on Sunday to minister to the elderly in the nursing home that have so very little to look forward to. Dorothy Nail Jacksboro, Texas
Dumbot crowd God bless our troops. Czars! I’ve heard more about czars lately than I’ve heard since my high school years when I assumed that a czar was something that existed in Russia. Yep. That’s how my old, trusty 1913 Webster defines czar: A king; a chief; the title of the emperor of Russia. Our student of communism President has now appointed more czars in his few months of being king than Russia ever did in hundreds of years. And our Liberal Lefties are accusing Republicans of trying to destroy Democracy? Well, I surely hope so, because the last time I did the Pledge of Allegiance I assumed we were a Republic. President Obama’s June 10 executive order establishing the National Prevention, Health Promotion, and Public Health Council, resulted in the release of an article titled: “Obamacare’s control plan? ‘Behavior modification.’” Excerpted from this article: The online Encyclopedia of Mental Disorders says “behavior modification,” a controversial psychological treatment, can be accomplished through positive reinforcement or “punishment” – and now President Obama has signed an executive order specifying the treatment for all Americans, to be prescribed by government bureaucrats. The encyclopedia report describes “punishment” as “the application of an aversive or unpleasant stimulus in reaction to a particular behavior.” Folks, the above executive order could have been taken straight from a communist study manual named; BRAIN-WASHING a Synthesis of the Russian Textbook on Psychopolitics. Chapters 6, 7 & 8 pretty well covers positive reinforcement and “punishment” in “behavior modification.” Over 60 million Dumbots elected Barrack Hussein Obama as POTUS, and also elected a majority of Dumbots to Congress. Consequently, Congress has a majority of members with major non-abilities. Most members (all officials) take an oath of office similar to this: “...will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” Congressmen don’t even read the Bills they pass. I don’t believe they read the Constitution either. I seriously believe they have lost their Ability to serve in Congress. I’ll close with a “birther” statement. The Arizona Republic quoted Democrats who said “presidential candidates already have to prove their citizenship,” and it added, editorially, “Secretary of State Ken Bennett, who lives in the real world, not on conspiracy island, points out that it could be unconstitutional for a state to impose its own requirements on federal office.” Mr. Bennett, I believe you belong to the Dumbot crowd. You say it could be unconstitutional for a state official to obey his oath of office? Besides, if it’s left up to Congress to get rid of an usurper, Obama is safe. Fearl Smith Jacksboro, Texas |
