Following a delay due to the partial government shutdown in October, employment data has been released for September and October.
Jack County unemployment numbers were down slightly in October from September, but up from this time last year.
This October showed an unemployment rate of 4.2 percent compared to September's 4.6 percent, but both of those numbers were up from last year's rates of the same months of 4.2 and 4 percent respectively.
In comparison to neighboring counties, Jack County had the lowest unemployment rate for October. The second lowest were Montague and Young counties at 4.4 percent unemployment. The highest unemployment rate was found in Palo Pinto County at a rate of 6 percent.
