The Jacksboro Chamber of Commerce is receiving calls about a business called Premier Impressions who is telling people they are working with the Chamber.
Chamber Executive Director Brenda Tarpley says this is not true. "This is false representation. We are not working with this company," she said.
Premier Impressions says they are a marketing group and they are putting together a marketing piece for the community.
"We have had no contact with this company and have no agreement for them to solicit money for ads from our community for any product," remarked Tarpley.
"The Chamber has not contracted Premier Impressions to solicit ads for a magnet with local emergency and important phone numbers, nor have we contracted them to solicit funds for any other piece or service."
Tarpley warned Jacksboro businesses to always call the Chamber to validate any calls received from any company making claims that they are working with or through the Chamber.
Tarpley researched Premier Impressions on the Better Business Bureau of North Texas website and found the following information:
"For the current three-year reporting period, the company has received approximately 337 complaints. Complaints allege the company billed for orders not placed; misrepresented its affiliation with a school, chamber of commerce, or other civic organizations; harassing and deceptive sales calls; non-receipt of product and poor quality product; and refusal to remove from calling lists."
The BBB is a great source of information for this type of situation.
