Perrin Whitt Consolidated Independent School District is planning a big celebration to honor 100 years as a school district and they would like Jack County to "save the date". Thursday, Sept. 26, festivities will start at 3:30 p.m. on the concrete parking lot between the new gym and ag barn with a city-wide festival and booths. At dark, the bonfire will be lit in the grass west of the ag barn. Friday, at 2:30 p.m., a parade will leave from the elementary main entrance. The district wants alumni to enter floats, with the first ever Perrin High School football team leading the way. At 7:30 p.m. that same day, the current Pirates will play Santo in their Homecoming game. They plan to recognize the alumni class with the most attendees, the class that travelled the farthest, the oldest alumni and other recognitions. After the game will be the student dance in the school cafeteria. Saturday, several individual classes of alumni will plan get-togethers. Festival booth spaces are available at no cost. The bonfire is free, parade entries are free, and the admission to the game is $5 for adults, $3 for students. The dance is $5 per couple or $3 per individual, and is planned for students, dates and chaperones only. Make plans now to get involved in this special celebration.
