A structure fire was toned at approximately 4 a.m., Thursday morning at 210 Oakridge in Jacksboro. Firemen from several stations responded but the home was a total loss. Attorney Patrick Myers and his wife safely left the home, after Myers determined it was caused by a faulty AC. He commented that if he could have found a bucket of water, he could have doused it. However, the smoke was dense and he needed to leave, with no shoes on his feet. Storms had pounded Jacksboro throughout the night with heavy rains and lightning, so the official cause is yet undetermined. Myers said he was born at a home on Live Oak Street in Jacksboro, then moved to Oakridge Street in 1971, and figured he would live there until he was buried at Oakwood Cemetery. I'm sure he was glad the last move wasn't scheduled for this morning.
