Another tragedy strikes Callan family

A crash in Decatur Monday night claimed the life of John Joseph Callan. 

He was the father of Jacksboro student Johnny Callan who was killed in a crash south of Mineral Wells Nov. 26.

Decatur Police Chief Rex Hoskins said Callan, 43, of Decatur, was driving on Highway US 380 Business shortly before 9 p.m. when his vehicle left the road, went over two culverts becoming airborne over the fence into the baseball park.

The car flipped and landed upside down. He was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Hoskins said Callan was traveling over the speed limit.
