Relay takes a hiatus, survivor dinner still on

Taking a year off, this year’s Jack County Relay for Life is still trying to stay active and vital.

Spokesperson Michele Martin said Wednesday the regional chapter of the American Cancer Society really didn’t give the Jack County group much of a choice but to cancel the event for a year.

“We were not given the opportunity to do one (for this year),” Martin said. “They didn’t give us a reason why either, but we’re hoping to ramp back up in a year or so.”
