Paradise to host festival

Thu, 08/18/2016 - 5:54 pm

The annual Paradise Main Street Festival is planned for September 24 this year. The event is held each year on the fourth Saturday of September and serves as a fundraiser for the Paradise Historical Society.

Funds raised from the festival from vendor fees, sponsorships, auction and raffle proceeds support the events and annual efforts of the historical society, such as maintenance of the Paradise Veterans Park, local history events and a local museum.

The event is free to the public and starts at 9 a.m. with events going on all day until 4 p.m. Three new attractions have been added this year including a Kiddie Park with rides and activities, a washer tournament, and the Blue Ribbon Contest for homemade pies, preserves and canned good. Festival-goers will be entertained all day with live, local talent.

Other popular attractions during the festival include a quilt show, car show, antique tractor display, an art show, a food court, lots of vendors selling and distributing their wares, and the famous Get-Away-Gals vintage trailers.

Visit www.paradisehistoricalsociety.com and to download entry forms for the washer tournament, Blue Ribbon Contest, car show, vendor and art show displayer. Sponsorships are still available, so download a sponsorship form and to make a donation and be included as an advertised sponsor.
